“MY NAME IS PHLIPPINE DELAIRE, I AM AN ACTRESS AND I CURRENTLY PLAY MY SHOW “TELEDRAMA” AT THE BO SAINT MARTIN THEATER IN PARIS. »

Hello Filipina! For those who don't know you, who are you, and what is your news?

PHILIPPINE DELAIRE

My name is Philippine Delaire and I am an actress . I made myself known on Instagram during the first confinement by posting humorous videos in which I play characters and scenes from everyday life. I have never stopped since! These are also the videos that inspired us, my friend Morgan Autexier (who is my co-author) and me, a show that I am currently performing at the Bo Saint Martin theater in Paris. In parallel with this show , I am also currently filming a series which will soon be broadcast on M6!

Can you tell us a bit more about your show?

PHILIPPINE DELAIRE

It's a show called “ Teledrama ” in which I parody well-known television or reality TV shows , such as The Voice or Koh-Lanta! There are also some characters from my Instagram videos. The beginnings of this show were very intense: I did 22 performances in 25 days at the Avignon festival! But it was awesome. Now, I play it every Tuesday evening at 9pm at Bo Saint Martin in Paris until December 14, but we will probably extend until March! The idea would be to continue with other dates outside Paris from April. But I'm already playing two dates in Bordeaux on November 4 and 5, and in Toulouse on November 6!

Are there any women who have particularly marked you in your career?

PHILIPPINE DELAIRE

The women who have helped and supported me the most are the women in my family ! My mother, my sisters… and my brother, even if it's not a woman! I am lucky to have an entourage that supports me enormously. After high school, I started studying psychology when I was already dreaming of being an actress . When I finally announced to my family that I was stopping my license to return to the theater, they immediately said to me “ Ah! Finally you do what you love! ". Since then, they have always been behind me. For example, my mother and my sisters always write to me before and after my performances!

And in the women who inspire me, I'm not really the type to be a “fan” of anyone in particular, I don't really have an idol and I never really had one. But for example, recently when I saw Camille Chamoux 's show, I said to myself “Ok, that's exactly what I want to do”. She's a real actress on stage , who plays characters, who tells a story, with a common thread… It was very inspiring.

Is it difficult to be a woman and to be humorous?

PHILIPPINE DELAIRE

I have to admit that it took me a while to assume that I fell into the “comedian” category. I had always dreamed of tragedy, blood and tears , during Florent, I always worked only long tragic monologues! My teachers quickly made me realize that I had potential for comedy , and by starting videos on Instagram , that's when I really understood for myself that I could make my place in this category. " humor ".

What I find great today is that on Instagram , there is a real bunch of girls who are humorous . It has become a genre in its own right, and it is taken by storm by many women! Laura Felpin , Anaïde Rozam ,Lison Daniel … I arrived with this wave, so for me, it's obvious that women have a real role to play in the comedy scene today!

If you could live 24 hours in the life of another woman, who would you choose?

PHILIPPINE DELAIRE

It's funny because when I said earlier that I didn't really have an idol, there was an exception in my youth and it was Janis Joplin ! When I was young, I was a fan. So 24 hours in the skin of Janis Joplin at Woodstock in 1969 , that I admit that I would like to see what it looks like!

Do you have a message for young women who, like you, would like to become actresses?

PHILIPPINE DELAIRE

I think I will give the same advice that was given to me. Namely: believe in it, fight, do not give up , even when people tell you that you are not capable! When you want something and you give yourself the means, if you really believe in it, I'm convinced that you can get there. The other advice I would give is to be the initiator of your own projects. Do not expect anything from anyone, it will not fall by itself. You have to move, work, work, not rely on your achievements or rely on people. You have to rely on yourself first and foremost! And when it doesn't work, when there are flops (there will be plenty of them!), don't let go  Nothing ! You will get there.
