Balzac Paris is committed to designing eco-responsible sunglasses from ecological materials that respect the environment and people . We offer sunglasses made from cellulose acetate made from natural and renewable raw materials. Invented by Paul Schutzenberger in 1865, this plastic material results from the combination of plants, acetic acid and acetic anhydride.
We also produce women's sunglasses with bioplastic , which comes from natural, renewable and mainly agricultural resources. These polymers are produced from starch, sucrose or vegetable oils. In addition to our collection of ethical clothing , our ambition is to develop a range of ethical TPR (Always More Responsible) accessories that meet ecological and societal challenges.
We want to create eco-responsible sunglasses that appeal to our customers in the long term and that respect the three pillars that define us as a company with a mission: sustainability , ethics and respect for the environment . The majority of our sunglasses are made in France in a workshop labeled Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV). This is a mark of recognition from the State, created in 2005, which makes it possible to distinguish French companies with artisanal and industrial know-how deemed to be of excellence.
To choose the right sunglasses, you must first find out about the different categories of protection. There are 5 categories of sun protection factor :
Category 0: slightly tinted, these sunglasses do not protect against UV rays. They are only reserved for aesthetic comfort.
Category 1: slightly tinted, the lenses lend themselves well to limited sunlight in a cloudy sky.
Category 2: sunglasses ideal for average sunshine outside the summer period when the brightness is generally at its maximum.
Category 3: the most widespread category, the lenses filter more than 80% of the sun's rays and are perfectly suited to strong sunlight, both at the beach and in the mountains for skiing.
Category 4: extremely effective, these glasses filter almost all the sunlight. They are used in extreme conditions (alpinism in high mountains or on glaciers). Prohibition to drive your car while wearing them due to impaired vision and color perception.
We also advise you to choose your eco-responsible sunglasses according to the shape of your face . Generally, the shape of your pair of glasses should be reversed to the shape of your face. For example, if your face is round, you should opt for sunglasses with thin, rectangular frames. On the contrary, if you have a square face, opt for a pair with round or oval shapes.
