At Balzac Paris, we firmly believe that a great story can only be told with complete transparency . That's why we are proud to be among the first French brands to display the Environmental Cost of our products.
In a world where consumers aspire to greater sustainability, but where mistrust can still exist, our mission is to provide you with reliable and measurable benchmarks. The environmental cost of textiles allows you to assess the overall impact of a garment throughout its entire lifecycle. Displaying this information is voluntary for brands that wish to inform their customers, but it becomes mandatory when other environmental indicators are also presented.
The Environmental Cost: What is it?
This score applies exclusively to textile clothing. Shoes, leather goods, household linen, as well as leather and fur clothing are not included in this scope.
Consumers can find this environmental cost both online, directly on several of our product pages via the traceability tab of the site , and in store thanks to the labels equipped with Fairly Made QR codes .
The scoring system was designed to be intuitive. The overall environmental cost measures the garment's total impact, comparable to a product's price tag. A second indicator, calculated per 100 grams, allows for comparison between items, similar to a price per weight. The higher the number, the greater the garment's environmental impact.
All this information is available in the traceability tab of the product sheet.
The Environmental Cost is a score, displayed on the product, which clearly and legibly measures the total ecological impact of a garment , from its manufacture to its end of life.
What does this change for you?
While French regulations have recently set the official implementation date for this labeling, we have chosen to be pioneers. This is our way of demonstrating that commitment is not a constraint, but a priority and the core of our promise.
By choosing a Balzac Paris piece with its environmental cost displayed, you are not just making a simple purchase: you are making an informed consumer choice, armed with transparent information.
It's fashion, reinvented, with complete confidence.
