The Ori basket is the perfect blend of traditional Moroccan craftsmanship and the leather craftsmanship Balzac Paris has been offering for over 10 years. Its three meticulously crafted palm braids elegantly blend with the meticulously crafted leather cutouts, creating a perfect balance, giving the Ori bag a timeless elegance.

  • Hand-woven by the women's artisan cooperative DOUM FOR WOMEN, in Morocco
  • Removable fabric pouch inside
  • LWG Gold certified cowhide leather of European origin, Mediterranean palm leaves
  • The LWG label guarantees leather production that respects both people and the environment. By focusing on a European-wide production chain, Balzac Paris strives to minimize the carbon footprint of its products.
  • Base dimensions: 11x17cm; Body height 23cm
  • Removable shoulder strap (105 cm with carabiners)
  • This material may naturally present color variations.
    For maintenance use a soft bristle brush. To remove
    a stain, rub gently with a cloth slightly dampened with water.
    Then wipe with a dry cloth.

Know-how:

Baskets are handmade by a women's cooperative specializing in basketry in Morocco. Doum For Women is dedicated to the integration of rural Moroccan women in villages near Marrakech.

All baskets are handwoven from natural fibers such as palm leaves, raffia, and rushes. The remarkable basketry skills of these women artisans are passed down from generation to generation.

  • Mediterranean palm leaves
  • Smooth leather: Use milk, chamois leather, colorless shoe polish for cleaning and waterproofing.
  • Palm: Real palm weave. The color nuances are inherent to the nature of the material (green indicates a younger palm that will become unbleached over time.) Avoid water and friction.
