Leather
Material as durable as it is desirable
The choice of our leathers
At Balzac Paris, we select our leathers with the greatest care. They must meet precise criteria: certified, of European origin, vegetable tanned or chrome-free.
We adapt our selection of leathers according to the desired characteristics and the desired stylistic rendering for each product. We mainly favor cowhide leathers for their distinctive qualities: smooth and robust, guaranteeing excellent hold and great durability. Over time, these leathers develop a delicate patina, revealing all their singularity and character.

OUR COMMITMENTS TO PRESERVE THE ENVIRONMENT & REDUCE OUR IMPACT ON CLIMATE DISRUPTION
The LWG (Leather Working Group) certification ensures that all stages of production of our certified cowhide leather are checked to ensure that each of them is environmentally friendly. This guarantees responsible management of water, chemicals, waste and air quality.
LWG certification also guarantees responsible management of energy consumption in order to reduce the impact on global warming.

PEOPLE AT THE HEART OF OUR DECISIONS
We place ethics at the heart of our decision-making. Vegetable-tanned cowhide leather ensures that the products used in the production of the leather are harmless to the health of our customers.
OUR COMMITMENTS TO PRESERVING THE ENVIRONMENT
Vegetable tanned cowhide leather is made only from naturally occurring tannins to limit environmental impact.
We have used vegetable tanned leather since our beginnings, our first piece in PAP leather was in one of these leathers.

PEOPLE AT THE HEART OF OUR DECISIONS
Committed to local and responsible production, we favor materials from French or European production, particularly with regard to cowhide leather. All our leathers are controlled in accordance with REACH standards, guaranteeing the well-being and safety of workers, compliance with working conditions, as well as the safety of the products used for the customer during the manufacturing process.
OUR COMMITMENTS TO PRESERVING THE ENVIRONMENT
REACH standards also secure the manufacture and use of chemical substances to limit the impacts on the environment. Each chemical product is listed, evaluated and controlled to ensure compliance with European standards.

ETHICS AT THE HEART OF OUR DECISIONS
To meet the convictions of customers who attach particular importance to animal welfare, we are committed to offering creations made from alternatives to leather. Among these solutions, we use apple skin in particular. Both aesthetic, sustainable and eco-responsible, this material fits harmoniously into our circularity approach.
OUR COMMITMENTS TO PRESERVE THE ENVIRONMENT & REDUCE OUR IMPACT ON CLIMATE DISRUPTION
In fact, leather made from apple skin waste has a lower environmental impact than traditional leather.
